about Go Norland tours.

The trip was wonderful. You have a gift for bringing a group together. The hotels were outstanding and the dinners delicious. I have been telling everyone about your Norway Coastal tour.
— LD, San Francisco (Second time traveler)
I think that you created the perfect tour for me. I was able to see the places that had the greates meaning for me perrsonally, and then also the tour expanded on the macro part of Norwegian culture that we all think of from historic and family lore.

At Sons of Norway we are often talking about your visit last year, and we even managed to get a picture in the Viking magazine, as you may have seen.

Thank you Linda for a once in a lifetime adventurous trip. We have enjoyed the tour, you, Jon, and fellow travelers. We appreciate your many trivial decisions and always with good humor.

Thank you for the immersion you gave us into your Norway. We climbed lofts like Kristen and Erland. We were at the hostel Lavrans and Ramfred walked on pilgrimage for their invalid daughter. Somoe rode the Olympic lifts. We gloried in the air, the clouds, the steep fjord sides, the calm waters, with waterfalls spilling in, etc, etc.

You gave us such a good balance of history and modern. We had chances to shop, have elegant meals and visit with new friends. You paired us up as your intuition revealed. You were firm when you needed. You smiled and laughed a lot. You took care of the details. I think you did something special for everyone. I know you did for me–the trip to the farm–but my luggage, too. I cannot thank you enough.

On the whole, the trip was excellent. The places we stayed were lovely and above my expectations. Our driver was a lot of fun and easy to get along with, and very knowledgeable. I felt very safe with him as our driver on narrow roads with very sharp corners and steep drop-offs. I really enjoyed our stay at Sør Fron – the Sygård Grytting farm. The hosts were very knowledgeable, and the wife was an excellent cook. I really enjoyed the drive up over the glaciers as well as the trip over to, and hike up to Jostedalsbreen. Seeing musk ox was very special as well as the hike up to view them on Dovre Fjell. The highlight for me was being able to spend three hours in the glacial botanical garden at Kongsvold.
On Linda’s tour we shared our hearts with the grandeur of the best of Norway. From villages, farms, churches, fairs, to sæter, to glacier, to fjords and mountains, to craft, arts, music, dance, history, museums, and bustling cities. We had it all! Thank you, Linda. That was unbelievable that I was really at Great-grandpa’s farm!

Being a unique journey/adventure organized by Norwegian native Linda Spencer for the pleasure of some 25 travelers, many of whom are members of Daughters of Norway in Washington State and in California. Ms. Spencer shared her love for traditional Norwegian lodgings, food, parks and museums, making every day and every evening a beautiful and memorable experience.

Linda! Atter takk for ein fine tur til Norge. Troldhaugen er eit fint minne for meg, eg tenker paa den ofta. Min turen var alle tiders, det er nå heilt sikkert, beste Helsing.
Linda! Thanks again for an excellent tour to Norway. Troldhaugen is a first-rate memory for me, and I think about it often. My trip was the best ever, that is now certain. All my best regards.

I really appreciate that you took care of my dilemma at the Røros Tweed Outlet. The store didn’t take American Express and I would have had to just forget about the blanket and mittens. Instead, you told me that you’d be happy to put it on your card, and that I could just send you a check after I got home. That was way above and beyond the call of duty.

The highlight of the tour for me was visiting the churches and home of my ancestors and really “connecting” to my heritage. I am very grateful for your help in locating them. I loved visiting the Pilgrimage route and medieval sites as well as the fjords and mountains. Thanks for recommending the Kristin Lavransdatter book. It really made the first half of the trip come alive.

This trip was a wonderful balance of city and natural beauty-it really gave a wonderful overview of Norway. So many special and beautiful place! It took a great deal of knowledge and planning to squeeze so much into one trip!

Overall this was a wonderful, once-in-a-lifetime experience. We got to see and stay in amazing places we would not easily have discovered on our own, we learned about customs and culture firsthand, and your leadership kept the group happy and congenial throughout. Thank you for a very memorable trip.

The fact that the itinerary was so varied is what makes it so desirable. We visited places that I would not have thought to visit if I were just a plain tourist.  I would go again to be able to visit new out of the way places. Of course, something familiar must always be included just because it is supposed to be.

Every place was great, some obviously better than others, but no place was below average. Our stay at Stig’s farm was by far the highlight!
The copper mine was awesome! Hard to pick a favorite, but I would say the glacier. Getting to see all sort of scenery, from mountains, to low valleys. It was a great variety!

What a glorious two weeks you have shown us in Norge! They will be memories for a lifetime. I especially liked all the fjord vistas as we drove along in the bus and rode the ferries. The artisan’s fair was another highlight. Thank you for all your planning and loving care of us!
